Luxurious, Delirious, and Simple Backgammon Chips

The popular game of backgammon has its roots in ancient times. It was then, in Egypt, Mesopotamia and ancient Iran, where archeologists found the first types of backgammon. No one is really sure which on is which and especially which one was truly the first game. Let us better move away from the ridiculous to the overly luxurious. As for any other hobby or sport, there are also the ultra glamorous variants of accessories. In the case of backgammon, it would probably be a backgammon chip made out of real ivory, not just the color. Although we do not propagate elephant killings, these backgammon novelties, such as many others, do exist.

The last question is now where to buy those backgammon chips and sets. Most of the regular toy shops have backgammon boards for sale. They can come in wooden sets, or in marble sets. If you do not find what you are looking for, then try a carpenter or carver, that can customize or custom make your backgammon chip and set. For second hand try online and flea markets, you will never know what you might be able to dig up. Or in the worst case make your own.
